General Information & Conditions for Research Proposal (Call 2022)

Key Features

- Project duration: 01(one) year

- The budget of the proposed research should be maximum 15.00 (fifteen) lac (BDT) including VAT and TAX in appropriate case at prescribed rate (BFSA may consider higher estimated cost if justified for the proposed research project).

- Joint research proposal (more than one institute) will be encouraged.

Research Themes

• Prevalence of pesticides residues and/or heavy metals in fish/dried fish/fish products and their probable risk analysis
• Prevalence of pesticides residues and/or heavy metals in agro-products (fruits/vegetables or their products) and their probable risk analysis
• Quantitative assessment of food additives (i.e., sodium benzoate/potassium metabisulfite etc.), artificial sweeteners (Saccharine/ Aspartame) in jelly/ pickles/ bakery products etc.
• Study on use of artificial fruit ripening agents and development of fruit ripening chamber
• Prevalence of microbial hazards in street food and ready to eat salad items in restaurants and their probable risk analysis
• Prevalence of antibiotics residues/heavy metals in milk/meat/ animal (poultry and cattle) feeds/fish feeds

 Eligibility Criteria

1. Research proposals must be submitted through faculty members of public & private universities/Scientists/Researchers from relevant govt. and private research organizations.
2. Research proposal must be laboratory based.
3. Eligibility Criteria of Principal Investigator (PI):

• 12 (twelve) years of teaching or research experience
• Indexed research publications in relevant research areas
• Should have experience as PI in at least one R&D project for scientists/researchers of research institute/organization or thesis supervisor of at least 05 (Five) MS students in post graduate level for university teacher

1. Eligibility Criteria of Associate Principal Investigator (API):

• 08 (Eight) years of teaching or research experience
• Indexed research publications in relevant research areas
• Should have experience as API

1. Eligibility Criteria of Research Fellow:

• MSc (thesis) in relevant subjects
• Research fellow must not be employed in any government or private organization

1. Project Team may comprise-

• Principal Investigator (PI)
• One or more Associate PI (for joint research proposal)
• Research fellow(s)
• Technical assistant / supporting staff(s)

One applicant can submit only 01 (One) research proposal for competition in specified discipline

How to apply

Application containing 01 (one) hard copy of the proposal must be put in a sealed envelope and sent to the Secretary, BFSA, BSL office complex, 119 Kazi Nazrul Islam Ave, Dhaka-1215. Title of the Proposal with name and address of the PI and proponent organization should be clearly written on the Envelope. An electronic copy of application on prescribed template along with required documents must be submitted by email to taif.ali@bfsa.gov.bd

Deadline

Applications (soft and hard copy) must be submitted within October 01, 2022 (during office hour).

Incomplete applications or applications received after the deadline will not be accepted
